Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Najoua and Michael

I know I’ve been on a bit of a simple wedding kick lately, but I do love them so!  To me, I just love the look on the couple’s faces when they are thinking of nothing else but each other and getting married.  I think it’s one of the most special moment of a couple’s lives.  OK, I won’t get too mushy….

Najoua and Michael were married at the Kaibo on the North Side of Grand Cayman.  Simple and elegant was what it was all about!

How cute is this coconut circle.  All of the guests sat outside of the circle while the couple and the officiant stood inside.  With the bougainvillea leaves scattered in the middle, you cannot get more natural and Caymanian than that!

The happy couple and guests enjoyed a beautiful beach dinner after the ceremony along with a cocktail or two.  Ohhh, outside, under the stars, drinking champagne…can you think of anything more romantic?

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Courtney and Adam

Today’s wedding is filled with such tropical goodness, I thought you would all enjoy a look!  From the colorful flowers to the shoe valet to the thatch woven fans the details just scream “beach wedding”.

I’m starting you off with the old Cayman Craft Market.  The bright aqua building with the tin roof–a great example of old school Cayman architecture.

And the flowers…so bright and cheerful!  They just make me smile!

Like with any beach wedding, you can leave the stilettos at home.  Shoes are optional and you can check them here!

And my favorite one from these two…the bride and groom, sitting on a sea wall, eating island patties.  Check out their “we tied the knot” sign.  Instead of a guest book, they had their guests write notes on postcards that they hung from the sign.  Very cute!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kristina and Jeff, Part 2

We’re back and we have more from Kristina and Jeff.  As I mentioned earlier, we caught up with the fantastic couple to chat about their day and their experience during the planning process…

Crystal Blue:  When planning your wedding, what were the two or three things most important to you?

Kristina:  The most important things to US were the food and beverage and of course the cake.  Thinking just as the bride, my most important things were the dress, photographer and event planner.  Every bride wants to look beautiful on her perfect day, after all!

Crystal Blue:  Seeing as you live on the island and know many of the vendors, how did you decide which ones to use?

Kristina:  We wanted a meal that our guests would remember and love the food at Bacchus.  That was the easy part.  Our coordinator, Octopus Events was also another easy decision.   Having worked with them before, I knew we would work well together and they would provide the level of service I wanted.  Chuck Bishop of A Thousand Words Photography was another easy choice–we knew we wanted him before we knew our wedding date!

Crystal Blue:  What about the location?  How did you choose out of all of the fantastic venues in Grand Cayman?

Kristina:  We knew we didn’t want a restaurant, so we started looking around the island at villas.  We came across Seaspray in Beach Bay and love it.  Not only does it have a fabulous view, but there was a cute lawn and plenty of space around the pool area as well.

OK, enough chatter for now…here are some more photos from the day.  Can you even tell there was a hurricane the day before?  I don’t think so!!!!!!!!!

I love that photo of them coming down the stairs as they are being announced into the reception!  (Which was Kristina’s favorite part, by the way!!!)

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kristina and Jeff

From the moment I saw this couple, I knew I wanted to share this wedding with you!  Not only are Kristina and Jeff a gorgeous couple (inside and out!) but they have a great story to go along with their wedding.  Long story short, Kristina and Jeff gave a new definition to the term “whirlwind romance” when a hurricane literally came through Cayman the day before their wedding.  During the week prior their wedding, the date changed no less than 5 times within 5 days–along with each storm update they received.

Anyway…let’s start with some eye candy…

We caught up with Kristina and Jeff to find out more.  Come back in a little while to hear what they had to say!!
