Happy Monday!!  Hope you all had a nice weekend!  I’m excited to share this wedding with you today because it’s our first time showing this venue and it is one of my favorites!

The venue is a private villa on Seven Mile Beach called Coral Reef House.  It’s a beautiful five bedroom villa with an equally amazing stretch of beach and the perfect location for a wedding–small or large.  This lovely couple actually live in Grand Cayman and wanted someplace different for their wedding which is why they choose the Coral Reef.

Coordinated and designed by Celebrations, this couple kept natural with natural.  The bamboo seating for the ceremony as well as the woven lounge furniture really complimented the outdoor setting of the ceremony and reception.

Each guest received a thatch fan to keep cool and the couple stood under a natural bamboo canopy to exchange their vows.  The flowers were minimal, yet BEAUTIFUL and were, in fact, the bride’s favorite part of the design.

After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a lovely dinner under the stars and danced the night away!!!   Oh, by the way, come back Thursday for this couple’s AMAZING trash the dress session…you don’t want to miss–it’s too gorgeous!

Ritz Carlton Cayman Islands Wedding

Hope you all had a nice weekend!!  Today we’re sharing with you one fabulously elegant wedding that took place last month at the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman.  Red, Black and White were the colors, black magic roses were the flowers and grand was the name of the game.

(Grand Strawberries)

Let’s start at the beginning…the procession came down the Grand Staircase on the northern lawn of the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman.  The bride descended and met her father who walked her down the aisle, along the Grand Lawn.  (See, I told you it was grand!!).

For their reception, the couple had dinner and dancing in the Grand Ballroom.  The room was decked out with red lighting, black and white linen and tall contemporary centerpieces.  The cake, was indeed grand…and probably pretty yummy!

We hope you had a fabulous day–thank you for sharing with us!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Trish and Grant

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  We are kicking off the week with Trish and Grant’s wedding full of fun color and fun people!  Not only did these two get hitched in Grand Cayman but they also got engaged in Grand Cayman!  As if it wasn’t easy enough to choose Cayman as a wedding destination, they now had a meaningful link to the island which made it all the more special to Trish and Grant.

As a photographer herself, the hardest decision for Trish was choosing a photographer for her wedding.  When she came across Rebecca Davidson’s work, she knew Rebecca would be the right person to document their day.  Based on what I’ve seen, I think so too!!

During the ceremony the couple had a sand ceremony.  In non-beach speak, this is similar to a unity candle ceremony without the pesky candles blowing out!  As you can see the couple chose blue and green sand and will have this memento to keep and remind them of the commitment they made to each other.

A first for me, this couple also had a rock ceremony.  Color coordinated rocks with inspirational words such as “trust”  and “love” were used to symbolize all of the many intricate parts of a marriage.

The ceremony took place on the beach next to the Wharf and the group enjoyed a beautiful lunch and dancing to the musical stylings of Musical Crew.  Most stayed at The Marriott Beach Resort with a few staying at Turtle Nest Inn and everyone enjoyed a day swimming with the stingrays and playing with the dolphins!  They all had a truly amazing visit in Cayman!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Charmaine and Kennedy

Hope you all had a nice weekend!  We’re kicking the week off with a cute, local, pretty much DIY couple who were married just a few weeks ago.  I loved the details of this wedding and Aaron Rebarchek did a great job of capturing the details…and the moments!

The couple exchanged vows at Caribbean Club on Seven Mile Beach with their reception at Luca Restaurant.  The bride’s friend took care of many of the details, including the flowers–which were just so simple and pretty!!

When the couple began planning their wedding, they considered having it elsewhere.  However, after exploring different locations, they knew they already had the perfect place…their home, Grand Cayman.  The specific location of Caribbean Club and Luca was also easy.  As one of their favorites, this is also where they got engaged!  It was a perfect fit!

Miss Ann of Celebrations made this fabulous cake–I’m sure it tasted as good as it looks!!  I love the detail–the flowers looked like fabric to me at first, but of course, it’s all pure sugar.  Yum!

The words the couple used to describe the design was simple and elegant.  I think this is such a great example of exactly that–a few key, beautiful elements without going overboard.  Just lovely!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kristen and Joseph

On most days, if you look into the harbour front in Grand Cayman, you will see a number of cruise ships hanging out waiting for their passengers to come back aboard.  Downtown George Town is a-buzz with day time tourists shopping, exploring and for some, getting married.

This cute couple did just that.  After disembarking their cruise ship, they headed up to the Wharf for a lovely daytime ceremony and lunch reception.

I love the variety of color in this wedding.  Celebrations worked with the couple on coordination and design and used the blue to reflect the gorgeous water used as the backdrop with the oranges, yellows and greens really adding a tropical effect to the design.

A few words from the bride and groom…

Crystal Blue ::  Why did you choose Grand Cayman for your wedding destination?

Kristen ::  As a child, my family used to vacation in the Cayman Islands.  At dinner one evening and Kristen stated that she wanted to get married there one day.  Following their engagement, Joe and Kristen decided on a destination wedding and could not think of a better place to celebrate their day.

Crystal Blue ::  How did you choose to travel by cruise ship?

Kristen ::  That was THE hardest decision in the entire planning process.  We wanted our guests to have a vacation with a wedding and decided a cruise ship was the best way, for our group, to do this.

Crystal Blue ::  Can you describe your day in three words?

Kristen ::  Perfect, Beautiful and Simply-Cayman!  We just had a great day and our guests had so much fun dancing all afternoon!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Laura and Remo

This sassy couple was married earlier this year and when I saw their photos I had to show you.  Aaron Rebarchek not only did a fantastic job of capturing the personalities of the bride and groom but also shows us some views of Cayman that I thought you might like.

Laura and Remo were married at Grand Old House on Grand Cayman.  This beautiful plantation house has one of the best views on the island–perfect for the backdrop of any wedding.   The tropical colored flowers Celebrations designed for this couple really popped and enhanced the true Caribbean style this couple was after.

In one of the days following the wedding, the couple had a photo shoot with Aaron  that ended with trashing the dress.  Before jumping into the crystal blue sea they headed to a few ideal locations and really had fun with the shoot!

We’ll be back with some more in a little while!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Rachel and Boris, Part 2

We’re back with more from this “made for each other” couple.  You can see it in the photos, but honestly, the amount of laughing taking place during this wedding was incredible.  Everyone was so happy, relaxed and just excited for the day!

Crystal Blue ::  What was your favorite design element?

Rachel and Boris :: Where do we begin… The invitation set the tone for the wedding.  The invites were square with the trio of colors and one single Palm Tree.  This easily segued into the design elements.  For the ceremony, I walked down an espresso, wooden runway that just popped off the white sand of the beach.  The guests sat on espresso benches with white rectangular cushions.  The square bamboo canopy that we exchanged our vows under was draped in white fabric with the aqua blue ocean as a back drop.  HOW BEAUTIFUL IS THAT?!

Then… The reception.  Our guests sat at a table family style with aqua linen and multiple espresso runners that ran width wise.  Each setting was layered with the trio of colors.   The base linen was aqua, then an espresso pintuck napkin, with white square chargers.  The centerpieces were a line of  white orchids in glass vases with actual espresso beans in the bottom of the vase.  We danced the night away under a clear top tent that faced the ocean with a never ending line of tiki torches that separated us from the water…  The finish couldn’t have matched my inspiration an better and my favorite elements were sprinkled everywhere throughout the night.  There was never just one…

Thank you, Rachel and Boris for sharing your day with us!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Rachel and Boris

Have you ever seen a couple and said “they were just made for each other!!” ?  Well, if you have or if you haven’t it doesn’t really matter, but let me introduce you to Rachel and Boris…these two, without a doubt were made for each other!!!  This fun pair were married only a couple of weeks ago on the East End of Grand Cayman at The Reef.  The resort was a perfect fit for the two and their guests and everyone had a fantastic time!!

Crystal Blue ::  Why did you choose the Cayman Islands for your wedding?

Rachel and Boris ::  We both wanted to choose a place that neither had been to before.  Fortunately, the both of us have seen a lot of the world.  A good friend recommended that we should check out Grand Cayman.  With so much to offer it was an easy decision and our friend could not have chosen better!

Crystal Blue ::  It is rather nice, isn’t it??  How did you choose The Reef as your location?

Rachel and Boris ::  Choosing the resort (as our accommodation and wedding venue) was the most difficult part of the entire process for us.  Grand Cayman has so many beautiful locations for a wedding it was hard to narrow down!  I finally leaned on my wedding planner and asked for her guidance and recommendation.  She gave her recommendations and from there we made our decision.  After that, everything else was easy!!

Crystal Blue ::  What was the design inspiration for your day?

Rachel and Boris ::  Don’t laugh, but it was our living room!  (I laugh…).  Espresso Brown, Aquamarine and white are my favorite colors and the colors of our living room.  The colors are also earthy to me due to our love of the ocean (aqua), sand (white) as we are avid divers.  We knew we didn’t want elements of the ocean on land for a sea side wedding.  For example, we didn’t want Sea Stars, or Sand Dollars as a part of the wedding decor.  We wanted to leave those elements in the ocean.  The Palm Tree however was topside, so that became the “badge” that we carried throughout the entire wedding design.

Come back for more from Rachel and Boris in a while!!
