Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Jenny and Josiah

I was so happy to receive this wedding to share with all of you.  The couple is gorgeous, the details are beautiful and I just plain love this wedding.  Looking at the photos I could feel the joy during this day and there are so many romantic aspects, what’s not to love?  Also, and I just have to throw this in there…these two HAD A RAIN BACKUP!!!   Thank you, very much!

Since Jenny and Josiah had previously lived in Cayman, the decision to marry here was easy.  They wanted to share all of the things they love about Cayman with their family and what better time to do that then at their wedding!  The couple incorporated local bougainvillea into their ceremony decor with the beautifully decorated chuppah to give the decor some local flavor.

This lovely couple had planned to be married outside on the deck of the Cracked Conch, but Mother Nature had other plans.  They moved their ceremony inside, however, when it was ready for cocktails and dancing, the skies had cleared!

Oh, did I mention they  had my favorite color scheme??   Aqua and orange…I just love it!

Everyone finished off the night dancing under the stars!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kacy and Brett, Part 2

We’re back with more from Kacy and Brett’s Seven Mile Beach wedding.  After the nuptials on the beach, the couple and their guests enjoyed a fabulous meal from Luca at Caribbean Club.   Check out the fun cake…that looks YUMMY to me!!

The couple said the most memorable moment of the day was their first dance.  They had both been looking forward to this part of the evening so much that when they were dancing, they forgot everyone else around them.  Very romantic!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kacy and Brett

When I saw the photographs the first thing that struck me about this couple was how comfortable they looked with each other.  Come to find out they decided to get married after only dating three weeks!!  Love at first sight, I think so!

Kacy’s family had been vacationing in Grand Cayman for over 20 years so when it came time to choose a location for the wedding, it was easy.  The beauty of the beach, the ease of travel and the meaning for the couple all made Grand Cayman the perfect destination for their wedding.

The ceremony was held on Seven Mile Beach at the Caribbean Club and featured some gorgeous orange with elements of the sea.  The canopy with starfish and sand dollars was the perfect frame for these two.

Come back later for more on this “meant to be” couple!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Gillian and Duncan

Love in the time of …..skype!  This story is a true whirlwind romance with a “made for each other” ending.  Gillian and Duncan’s have known each other since 1969, however, these two love birds hadn’t spent any time together until last summer when Gillian and her daughter visited England.  After the visit, Gillian and Duncan communicated, fell in love and got engaged over Skype!  They didn’t want to wait to tie the knot–Duncan hopped on a plane, came to Grand Cayman (where Gillian and her family live) and two weeks later they were married!

The wedding was beautiful–surrounded by their closest family and friends, Gillian and Duncan were married on Seven Mile Beach with dinner following at Luca.  The wedding dress was un-traditional and casual, many of the men dressed in kilts rented by Kilt Rental USA.  The decor centered around the orange calla lily and the couple were married under a bamboo canopy to frame the ceremony.

Oh, did I mention all of this was planned in two weeks???  That’s where the whirlwind part comes in!  Wishing this brilliant couple a lifetime of happiness together!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Charmaine and Kennedy

Hope you all had a nice weekend!  We’re kicking the week off with a cute, local, pretty much DIY couple who were married just a few weeks ago.  I loved the details of this wedding and Aaron Rebarchek did a great job of capturing the details…and the moments!

The couple exchanged vows at Caribbean Club on Seven Mile Beach with their reception at Luca Restaurant.  The bride’s friend took care of many of the details, including the flowers–which were just so simple and pretty!!

When the couple began planning their wedding, they considered having it elsewhere.  However, after exploring different locations, they knew they already had the perfect place…their home, Grand Cayman.  The specific location of Caribbean Club and Luca was also easy.  As one of their favorites, this is also where they got engaged!  It was a perfect fit!

Miss Ann of Celebrations made this fabulous cake–I’m sure it tasted as good as it looks!!  I love the detail–the flowers looked like fabric to me at first, but of course, it’s all pure sugar.  Yum!

The words the couple used to describe the design was simple and elegant.  I think this is such a great example of exactly that–a few key, beautiful elements without going overboard.  Just lovely!

Cayman Islands Wedding Venue :: Luca

You have seen it featured in a couple of our real weddings, so today we want to introduce you to Luca!  One of Grand Cayman’s newer wedding venues, Luca combines amazing Italian cuisine with a contemporary atmosphere, just a few steps to the Beach.  Located on the ground floor of the Caribbean Club, Luca is a fabulous location for any wedding reception!

Not only are the owners and staff downright awesome but the chef is truly talented…anything you want, they will make it.  I had a client that requested a mudslide cake for their wedding cake and let me tell you, that was one of the BEST cakes I have ever tasted (and as my Mom says, I’m not a cake person)!

As you can see, Luca has a large wine room with wines from all over the world.  The setting inside is contemporary with beautiful art work, dark wood furniture and gorgeous ambient light.  The patio outside is perfect for dining as well, overlooking the beach and Cayman Sea!

Are you having your wedding at Luca (or did you have your wedding there)?  We would love to hear about your experience!  To learn more about Luca, click here.

Crystal Blue Vendor :: Caribbean Club

Today we’re featuring one of the newest locations on Grand Cayman’s perfect Seven Mile Beach.  Caribbean Club is located on one of the nicest stretches of beach on all of Seven Mile and not only provides you with gorgeous luxury accommodation but, conveniently, is also an ideal venue for your wedding and reception!

We spoke with Danielle at Caribbean Club in order to provide you with more information about this lovely property.  Here’s what she said!!

Crystal Blue:  Describe your property to us.

Danielle:  The Caribbean Club is a Boutique Residence Hotel offering 37 exquisitely furnished, 2,700 sq feet large Villas and Suites each consisting of three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large living room, fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer and a beautiful balcony overlooking Seven Mile Beach.

Crystal Blue:  Sounds like that’s everything you need and more!  Is there a restaurant on the property?

Danielle:  Luca is on the ground floor of Caribbean Club–perfect for lunch, dinner or any wedding or special event!  Also, within walking distance from Caribbean Club are a number of fine restaurants as well as the grocery store and other shops.

Crystal Blue:  How can you help a couple coming to Cayman for their wedding?

Danielle:  We can help with anything they need!  The first step is to block as many suites as you think you will need for the entire party.  We suggest couples start making accommodation arrangements as soon as possible to ensure there are enough available suites for everyone!

Thank you, Danielle!  This property really is beautiful and the suites are enormous!  Here is a little taste of what the Caribbean Club has to offer!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Pascale and Kevin, Part 2

We are back with more from Pascale and Kevin.  I just can’t get enough of this wedding…I love the colors, the locations and, well, the bride and groom!!!

Crystal Blue:  Pascale, your flowers really pop!  Can you give us more detail on the types of flowers in the design?

Pascale:  Celebrationswas my chosen vendor for floral and decor.  In my bouquet they used mango colored calla lilies, tulips and ranunculus, yellow freesias and green cymbidium orchids.  They made smaller versions of my bouquet for the bridesmaids.  The top of the aisle was decorated with two, four foot  glass cylinder vases filled with willow branches and cascading yellow and green cymbidium orchids.  The alternating black and white chairs were accented with a single bloom of alternating yellow and green cymbidium.

Crystal Blue:  Well, everything certainly looked beautiful!  Tell us about your something old, something new…

Pascale:  Since we were getting married on the beach, I was wearing flip flops instead of shoes.  I tucked a penny under my right foot for something old (and a bit of luck!).  During the ceremony I wore  Swarovski Crystal Alicia earrings and their Signature bangle, my something new.  For the reception, I changed my jewelry to the necklace and earrings my grandmother sent down (with my mom).  They were made of crystal and sapphires so that was my borrowed and blue!!

Crystal Blue:  How beautiful and I love how there was meaning behind so much of what you did!  Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Pascale and Kevin

You are going to L-O-V-E today’s Cayman Islands Real Wedding!  Trust me on this one!  The words whimsical, chic and gorgeous come to mind right off the top of my head!  Pascale and Kevin live on the island and I have known Pascale for some time as she also works in the wedding industry!  Anyway, I saw these photos by Aaron Rebarchek and had to share them with you!

And now some details from the bride….

Crystal Blue:  Pascale, tell us about your day–the who, the what, the where (I think we know why!!).

Pascale:  The day was amazing (and that word doesn’t even do it justice!).  We got married on the beach at Caribbean Club with cocktails at Luca and our reception at Ristorante Pappagallo.  We wanted a modern beach wedding inspired by fashion trends and stylish looks we found in various places and opted for a black and white theme with accents of orange, yellow and green.  We worked with Celebrations on all of the design aspects, including floral pieces.  We also wanted to honor Kevin’s Italian background which is why we chose Luca and Ristorante Pappagallo for our cocktail hour and dinner reception.

Crystal Blue:  Well you made some fabulous choices for both location and design!!!  Tell us more about your ceremony.

Pascale:  We hired Eugenio Leon, the only harpist on the island to perform for us at the Ceremony.  It was magical and fit perfectly with the modern beach style we were after.  Caribbean Club is also located on the nicest stretch of Seven Mile Beach so we had a splendid setting to begin with.  Kevin and I were both so touched by all of the love we felt surrounding us that day…it’s hard to put it into words how special it was.

Crystal Blue:  Sounds divine.  I’m getting the chills just hearing about it!  Tell us more…

Pascale:  Aaron Rebarchek was our photographer for the day.  We love his style and thought he would be the perfect match for our personalities.  In addition to the beach location, we took a number of photos at Camana Bay–just for a change of scenery.

Crystal Blue:  Looks like you guys had a lot of fun with this and of course you look gorgeous!!!  I love the Gran Torino–great addition to your black and white!!!

We’ll be back with more from Pascale and Kevin in a little while!!
