Cayman Islands Wedding Venue :: Ristorante Pappagallo

I’m a little hungry as I write this, so just the thought of this place makes my mouth water…If you’ve been there, you know.  If not, get there NOW because you are missing out!

Pappagallos has the whole package.  A unique venue tucked away in the district of West Bay, you will find this amazing Italian-meets-Caribbean fine dining restaurant.  This thatched roof restaurant has three different dining rooms, so can accommodate parties of small or large.  The menu is beautiful and the wine list extensive.  Of course let’s not forget the amazing service you will receive.  Vico and Franco, along with the rest of the team, will take great care of you and give you an unforgettable experience.  Oh, and let’s not forget Humphrey Bogart…he will meet and greet you at the door and make you feel welcome.  P.S.  HB is a parrot.

Cayman Islands Wedding Venue :: The Wharf

Not that it really needs introduction, but today we wanted you to get to know one of the most popular wedding venues on the island, The Wharf.  This venue holds a special place in my heart–not because of their fabulous service, amazing location or just plain YUMMY food, but because it is the location of the first wedding I ever planned!

Perfect for any size group, this waterfront venue also has an adjacent beach for your ceremony.  What more could you ask for??

Cayman Islands Wedding Photographer :: Amy Strzalko

We are so happy to officially introduce you to Amy.  You saw one of her stunning weddings last week so you already know she does amazing work but we wanted you to get to know Amy a little better.  We love her and we know you will too!  She is such a great addition to the Picture This Studio (joining Rebecca and Aaron) and just one more fabulous addition to Cayman!!

Crystal Blue ::   Can you describe your photography style?

Amy ::  I like to think of my photographic style as spontaneous, energetic and as fun as possible.

Crystal Blue ::  I love that and I’m sure your couples do too.  Since many couples are not used to getting photographed to the extent they are on their wedding day, how do you get them to relax and be themselves?

Amy ::  Usually I have to tickle them… (Just kidding)  I too hate having my photograph taken so I understand how they feel.  I love to meet the couple before the wedding day so we can get to know each other and find out any little details that may help make them feel more comfortable with me. When taking the photographs I think the more you can distract the couple and interact with them the more natural the photographs are and fun the experience is for them.  Most of the time brides & grooms are surprised how much fun they have in the end.

Crystal Blue ::  And I guess if that doesn’t work, you can always tickle.  =-)  After shooting so many weddings, how do you keep things fresh and new?

Amy ::  Shooting on such a small island can sometimes get repetitive so I always try to look for new things to make each wedding different.  The Bride & Groom’s personality also plays an important role in this, that’s why it is so important for me to meet and find out their personal interests, hobbies or unique characteristics.  Some of the things we find out can make the photographs totally original.

Crystal Blue ::  That’s great and I’m sure appreciated!!  What is the process you to through with each couple?

Amy ::  Once a client has decided to book my services I try and get to know them as much as possible.  I create a timeline for them and together we will edit it to best suit the couple’s requirements.  Time lines are really important to help take away any stress from the couple also assuring we get everything the client wants in the time I have been booked me for.  I will also suggest a meeting prior so we can finalize any small details that may add to the story we tell on the day.

Crystal Blue ::  I love how hands on and personal you are with your couples.   It’s so important to build a relationship prior to the day!  Tell us a bit about yourself!

After gaining a BA hons in Fashion Photography from the London College of Fashion I moved to the North of England to open my own studio & Gallery in the English Lake district.  After 4 years photographing weddings in the rain I decided it was time for a change of scenery.

I packed up my camera and headed for the Cayman Islands, which was where I was lucky enough to meet Rebecca. I have since then been working with Picture This and a great innovative team of people.

Since then my feet have barely touched the floor. I would never have thought work could be so much fun I love what I do.  Everyday is constantly inspiring and entertaining this is the reason I take photographs and love every minute of it!

Thank you so much for taking the time with us, Amy!  We’re so glad to have you as part of the Crystal Blue Weddings family!!
