Cayman Islands Honeymoon :: Sister Island Escape, Little Cayman

Unfortunately the sister islands in these parts don’t get as much exposure as Grand Cayman.  I guess it’s just because they are smaller but definitely not because they are not as awesome!  Today I’m going to focus on Little Cayman–the smallest of the three islands.  I love this place…it’s where my hubby and I go to get away from it all and is perfect for a couple on their honeymoon.

Perfect, why?

Well, you can do a ton or do nothing and either way, you’ve captured the essence of the island.  Here are some favorites of mine…

::  Dive Bloody Bay Wall.  It’s simply amazing and the best diving I’ve ever done (not that I’ve been diving everywhere, but for me, it beat out the Great Barrier Reef in Australia amongst other locations).

::  Pack a picnic lunch and kayak out to Owen Island.  It’s beautiful out there–literally a deserted island (aside from other lunch visitors) and wonderful for a little day trip.

::  Rent a scooter and explore the island.  Little Cayman is only about 11 miles long so it won’t take days to explore.  There are a ton of little beaches here and there to pop into, though and it’s fun going around on a scooter.  Point of Sand Beach is exquisite and lovely for a longer stop.

::  Go to Pirates Point for dinner one night.  You can also stay there, but if you’re not, it’s so worth popping in for dinner.  Gladys and the team do a great job and every time we go we feel like family.  The food and company are always equally amazing!!!

::  Grab a hammock and a fruity cocktail.  After all of the stress involved in planning a wedding you definitely need some downtime.  This is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the start of married life!

Here are some photos I took on my last trip to Little Cayman…

Have you been to Little Cayman?  What was your experience?

Getting married on Seven Mile Beach?  Why not honeymoon on East End?  The Reef is an all-inclusive optional resort on the tranquil East End of the island and da-da-da-da (that’s like a trumpet playing before the big reveal–you got that didn’t you??) …they have several honeymoon packages for couples to choose from.

All of the rooms at the resort are ocean front so you always have a spectacular view no matter what.  The team there is phenomenal and will make your stay one to remember!  Head down to TUKKA for a fun and fabulous oceanfront dinner (or lunch, or breakfast or brunch) and enjoy everything the East End side of the island has to offer!

Check out The Reef’s website for more information about their honeymoon packages!!
