Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Mango

Mango, mango everywhere!  Here in the Cayman Islands we have some lovely mango trees that bear the most delicious mango.  I had some the other day–it was so yummy–so when I was thinking of what color I should use for this week’s story board I figured why not yummy mango??  And besides…I’m on a fruit kick the past few weeks so I thought I’d continue with it.

I love strawberries.  I love when they come into season, like a little surprise treat each year.  I can eat them by the pint and never tire of them.  Yum, yum, yum…today’s board is all about strawberries!  Enjoy!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Champagne

Champagne is everywhere on this island.  I guess it’s no different from anywhere else, but on any given Sunday you can easily find a champagne brunch and throughout the week I can think of at least one place each night that has a champagne special happy hour.  Maybe I just notice it more now because I can’t have any champagne, but regardless, this week, I am inspired by it.  Enjoy!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: The Green of Rainy Season

by Danielle on June 30, 2010
in Inspiration

Some people might disagree, but in Cayman we do have seasons.  Currently we are in our rainy season.  It sounds bad, but typically we just get some tropical showers here and there and it doesn’t interrupt your day too much.  Living here we love rainy season because during the “winter” it doesn’t rain AT ALL  and for those of us who have plants (or try to have plants) or gardens we like a little bit of rain.  Anyway, it struck me yesterday how green everything is and yes, folks, that’s thanks to rainy season!

I love swirls.  You may have been able to tell by my website and my logo.  I don’t know what it is about swirls, but I love them…that’s that.  Today, my story board is all about the swirl.

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Lemon

Yes we have lemon trees in Cayman but really my inspiration comes from the color palette at the Engage!10 conference I told you about last week.  I just love the cheerful feeling lemon yellow brings and when done right, it can make your wedding very elegant!

I’ve mentioned it before, but just in case you missed it, I love starfish.  I don’t know what it is, but when I see them live and up close, they just take my breath away!!!  In Cayman you will see orange starfish–perfectly color coordinated amongst the aqua blue water and white sand…GORGEOUS!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Platinum days

Even in the Cayman Islands it rains–only every once in a while and not for very long, but hey, we need some rain too!  Anyway, today it showered for a bit and there was a gray cloud, but instead of thinking of a gray, dreary day, I decided to call it a Platinum day…doesn’t that sound better??  So, today’s board is inspired by Cayman’s Platinum days!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Driftwood

If you’ve ever been to any of the Cayman Islands you will see driftwood signs EVERYWHERE!  In Little Cayman and Cayman Brac you will be invited to paint your own piece of driftwood and hang it up where you are staying making the bar or restaurant very fun and personal!  Today, I’m inspired by driftwood and the rustic look of it.

Enjoy!!
