Happy Wednesday!  On a daily basis (at least) I head over to The Perfect Palatte to see what color loveliness they have in store for me.  Seriously, if I knew about this website when I was planning my wedding I don’t think I would have EVER settled on a color palatte…there are too many gorgeous combos to choose and tons of inspiration to go along with each of them!

I digress…today I am sharing with you a fantastic story board I saw on The Perfect Palatte the other day.  It’s so perfect for a Cayman Islands Wedding–I know you’ll love it as much as I do!

Let us know your color palette and we’ll post a board in your honor!!  Have a great day!

Beach wedding inspiration and ideas

You are in the luxury of your air conditioned ocean front condominium getting ready for your wedding. You are running a few minutes late and your guests are keen with excitement and anticipation of the big moment.  They are also sweating in the hot sun that is strategically placed right at eye level when they are seated.

It’s always extra special nice to have cold bottled water for your guests (or a nice fruity drink for that matter) but one nifty idea I heard the other day is serving frozen grapes.  Refreshing, different and bite size.  You can serve bunches of grapes in kraft paper bags or small crystal bowls (or any other container that you choose!) so it actually goes with the style of your wedding.

Think about it!

**By no means am I taking credit for this idea.  It was one I heard and thought it was cool so I’m passing it along!!

Cayman Islands Story Board :: Details

It’s all in the details.  Need I say more?  OK, I’ll explain myself.  The details are where you as a couple can bring personalization to your wedding.  This is your day and everyone attending is there for you.  Make it extra special by throwing in some meaningful details!

I’ve heard people say “Why would I spend time/money on little details, it’s not like people are going to remember them after the wedding is over.”  Well, I disagree.  As long as they’re MEANINGFUL.  If they are thoughtless favors that are there for the sake of having a favor, you are right.  If it’s something that means something to the two of you and is not a piece of junk, well then I beg to differ.  Try it, you’ll find I’m right.

Cayman Islands Story Board :: Desserts

So last week we showed you some FABULOUS cakes and this week we are still on a sugar high with desserts.  Just because you have cake doesn’t mean you have to ONLY have cake.  I mean, after all, it’s your wedding day–if you’re a dessert person, HAVE DESSERTS!

Here are some mouthwatering dessert tables I came across that make me just want to dive right in and eat all of these yummy treats!

Sweet tooth or not, aren’t these just gorgeous!!??!!  It’s almost  like you don’t want to take any of the desserts and ruin the design (I said almost people…I’m not totally crazy!)

Cayman Islands Story Board :: Cakes

It always gets me when I hear people say “Why are wedding cakes so expensive??  It’s only flour and water, isn’t it??”  Well, no, it’s actually sugar, butter, maybe some vanilla extract and other tasty ingredients to make it taste good but all ingredients aside, you cannot tell me that these cakes below are just flour and water…They are, in fact, pieces of art which is why, at many weddings the cake is the centerpiece of the design.

I hope this inspires you!

By the way, you don’t have to choose between your cake looking good and tasting good.  They can (and should) do both (i.e. have your cake and eat it too!)

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Starfish

Did you know you can find starfish in the Cayman Islands???  There is a place called Starfish point where you can find  orange starfish on most days.  Absolutely gorgeous animals these starfish are and today, they have inspired my board.  You will obviously see I didn’t go with the Cayman orange starfish, but but the white starfish people tend to use more for weddings.

What inspires you??  We would love to know!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Yellow Hibiscus

Hibiscus comes in many different colors, but today I was walking down the road and saw a yellow hibiscus bush.  I love how it just pops out of the greenery and at night, it closes up, just like when we shut our eyes to sleep.  The yellow hibiscus, I understand, is actually the Hawaii state flower, but we have them too, so here you go!

I love strawberries.  I love when they come into season, like a little surprise treat each year.  I can eat them by the pint and never tire of them.  I’m sad that berry season is coming to an end and have been stocking up on strawberries and blueberries like it’s my job.  Today’s board is all about the strawberries!!  Enjoy!
