Cayman Islands Inpsired Story Board :: Aqua and Red

Aside from being the best color combo of all time (I mean after all, my wedding was designed in this color scheme!), aqua is of course the inspiration for all things Cayman Islands. Red just looks really good with it.

Crystal Blue Weddings Story Board :: Bridesmaids Dresses

Well, of course we couldn’t go without dressing our amazing bridesmaids. Without these backup singers our day would not be the same or the song complete. Feel free to mix and match–they don’t need to all look the same (afterall, don’t you love them for their individuality??).
I chose dresses that I thought would be fitting in a Cayman Islands Beach wedding. I didn’t realize it until now, but apparently I’m drawn to more natural/earthy colors but of course I had to get my blue in there as well!
By the way, did you see the movie? It’s hilarious!!!
Crystal Blue Weddings Story Board :: Bridal Gowns

So anyone who knows me knows that I could use some help being fashionable…seriously, I would take that gift card on “What Not To Wear” in a heartbeat! Living on an island, it’s hard to keep in touch the latest fashions–one because there are limited resources here to do so and two because it’s always summer so forget about those gorgeous boots you’ve been eyeing just in case the temperature drops below 75 degrees. (I’m not complaining, I’m just saying!)
Anyway, with that said, I am a little nervous out my story board today since it is about Bridal Gowns. Basically, I scoured the Internet and chose the ones that first, I loved and second, I thought would be good for a Cayman Islands Beach Wedding. So, no, you won’t find sleeves a la Duchess of Cambridge but I really couldn’t imagine anyone wearing sleeves down here…Enjoy!!
Crystal Blue Story Board :: Boutonierres

You didn’t think we would leave our grooms out and skip the boutonniere story board, did you?? I love boutonnieres…like mini bouquets and I love everything mini.
One little tip for the grooms…when planning what boutonniere you’re going to wear make sure you take into account the fabric on which you are pinning it. If it’s a light fabric, you will need a light/small boutonniere. If it’s heavier, you can go for something more elaborate. Just my two cents!

I always think a bouquet is such a personal thing to a bride. For me, the minute I saw my bouquet on my wedding day was such a special moment…I don’t really know how to put it into words. It was one of the things that I also had such a hard time deciding on seeing as there are so many gorgeous flowers that can make up a bouquet–I love them all! Here are some I came across that I think would be good choices for your Cayman Islands wedding…I hope you like!!
What kind of bouquet are you planning on having??

Crystal Blue Weddings Story Board :: Napkin Decor

I always feel a bit bad for the napkin…after all, the purpose of a napkin is to catch and clean and most of the time it’s hidden away on your lap. Here’s what I love, though…the tiniest flower bloom or a coordinating menu or a simple sand dollar can dress up your napkin and really add to your table top decor and really completes a design (well, that’s just one gal’s opinion anyway!)
Don’t you agree? For this, a little goes a long way!!!

Crystal Blue Story Board :: China

I love when I see a table laid beautifully–I mean, who doesn’t? Patterned, layered china really makes a statement to your table setting whether it be for your wedding, rehearsal dinner, brunch or just a dinner with your loved one!

It’s so beautiful with its many different shades–from orange to hot pink to purple–lining the edges of some streets. So, in honor of bouganvillea beauty, here is today’s Cayman Islands inspired story board!

Cayman Islands Inspired Story Board :: Holiday Red

Last week I told you about the winter-y blue in Camana Bay. It really is hard not to get into the holiday spirit just driving down the streets of Grand Cayman. Each building is lit, each round about more festive than the next and we just picked up our gorgeous (real) tree so even the house is smelling like the holidays! Today’s inspiration comes from one of grand round abouts in Grand Cayman decked with red, white, gold and green…hard to not stop mid-circle to have a look! (Really, though, don’t stop!!)
