Cayman Islands Real Wedding

A few weeks ago I posted a story board about signs. I love when people use fun signs to add to their decor and these folks took that story board and brought it to life! Each sign they used had meaningful words that really stop and make you think about what this day is all about–marrying the one you love.

The aisle was lined with different signs along the way.  Some heartfelt, some to give a laugh.  After all, isn’t that what marriage is supposed to be about?  Growing together, sharing your hearts with each other and laughing A LOT!

Loving the bridesmaids dresses…I love how their all different and the berry color really is gorgeous!

The signs continued into the reception…I would have been all about those maracas!!  Shake, shake, shake!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Brittain and Brian

Loving this Lily Pulitzer inspired wedding we have for you today!  The pink, the green and some orange mixed in makes this a tropical beauty, topped off with a stunning Monique Lhuillier gown and surprise fireworks and we’ve got ourselves a just about perfect Cayman Islands wedding!

Crystal Blue ::  Why did you choose Grand Cayman for your wedding destination?

B&B ::  We thought Grand Cayman would be the perfect destination for our beach wedding.  I (Brittain) had been several times with my family when I was younger and thought our guests would love the Cayman Islands.

There are some fabulous little details in this wedding.  The shoe check for the ceremony where everyone could leave their shoes, pick up a pair of flip flops and a fan.  Island style all the way!!

The party started at LUCA for the rehearsal/welcome dinner the night before the wedding.  The ceremony took place on Seven Mile Beach at Grand Cayman Beach Suites with cocktails following at Hemingways.  The party then continued at Brittania Golf Club across the road for a fantastic dinner and dancing!

I am LOVING the fabric on this canopy!  Not your traditional white, ladies!!

Come back tomorrow for more details and the 411 on the providers who made this all possible!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Ashley and Todd, Portrait and Trash The Dress

by on November 4, 2010
in Real Weddings

Welcome back!  Our final installment of Ashley and Todd’s wedding.  For the week leading up to the wedding, Ashley was unsure about trashing the dress.  I told her, knowing Rebecca Davidson as well as I do, if she’s on the fence about it, she will end up in the water with the dress on!  So, needless to say, I was not surprised when these photos landed in my inbox!  Look how much fun they’re having–Ashley, you made the right decision!!!

They started off their portrait session at Camana Bay which has all sorts of gorgeous nooks and crannies!

They then moved on to the Shangri La Bed and Breakfast for a few shots…

And finally took to the water for the official trashing of the dress!!

Well done you two and congratulations!!!!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Ashley and Todd, The Reception

by on November 4, 2010
in Real Weddings

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s post about Ashley and Todd’s ceremony.  The sunset colors, the huge smiles and fun colors are what completely got me!  We’re back with more today…the reception this morning and their portrait/trash the dress session this afternoon.

Ashley and Todd were wed on the beach at Caribbean Club.  After exchanging vows, the bride, groom and their guests enjoyed a fantastic family style meal (prepared and served by Luca), Cake Pops, and dancing the night away!  There were some wonderfully heartfelt speeches, lots of laughter and a whole bunch of LOVE!

Come back a little later for the portrait/trash the dress session and of course, to find out all of the fantastic providers who made this day happen!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Katie and William

Today’s wedding is what I would call truly tropical.  I LOVE the colors and the fact that this fun couple brought color into every aspect of their day.  I was so pleased to see the ceremony chairs set up in a semi circle, plus I’m a huge fan of long kings banquet tables–so nice to see instead of the traditional rounds.  What a breath of fresh air this wedding is–I hope you enjoy!

Oh, and I didn’t mention above…check out the different centerpieces–low for some, high for some.  And the details galore.  I’m definitely crushing on this wedding!

My favorite part of this wedding–the white flowery lanterns (yes, that is the technical term for them!!)

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Amber and John

I love this wedding.  The story is fantastic and the photos are beautiful.  This great couple lives here in Grand Cayman so, like me, they get to experience paradise EVERY DAY!  (Sorry, don’t be too jealous!)

Two things I always ask about when chatting to these couples is first, tell me about the proposal and second, tell me about the funniest moment of your day.  After all, there is more to a wedding than flowers, a gorgeous dress and the first dance……

So, John told me about the proposal and let’s just say it involved some additional effort….

John ::  I proposed to Amber on Saturday, February 21st which was exactly two years after we met. We kayaked to a small secluded beach around Grand Cayman.   We were looking for sea shells when I caught her by surprise and told her I found a really nice one in the rocks…..then I popped the question.

Shortly after she said yes, I noticed that the kayak was no longer where I had tied it up.  It was drifting out to sea so I had to dive in and frantically swim to get it about 100 yards offshore.  I made it and Amber was on the beach cheering me on!!

Now this piece made me laugh out loud…I am a sarcastic person and sometimes people don’t get my humor so you may not find this as funny as I did…

CBWS ::  What was the funniest moment from your day?

Amber ::  During John’s speech he described meeting my Dad for the first time and how my Dad nonchalantly showed John his impressive gun collection.

Go Dad–I love that!!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kacy and Brett, Part 2

by on July 9, 2010
in Real Weddings

We’re back with more from Kacy and Brett’s Seven Mile Beach wedding.  After the nuptials on the beach, the couple and their guests enjoyed a fabulous meal from Luca at Caribbean Club.   Check out the fun cake…that looks YUMMY to me!!

The couple said the most memorable moment of the day was their first dance.  They had both been looking forward to this part of the evening so much that when they were dancing, they forgot everyone else around them.  Very romantic!
