Not that it really needs introduction, but today we wanted you to get to know one of the most popular wedding venues on the island, The Wharf. This venue holds a special place in my heart–not because of their fabulous service, amazing location or just plain YUMMY food, but because it is the location of the first wedding I ever planned!
Perfect for any size group, this waterfront venue also has an adjacent beach for your ceremony. What more could you ask for??

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Heather and Ryan

I have been dying to post this wedding for so many reasons. Could it be the beautiful couple? Yes. The gorgeous decor? Yes. Three different dresses? Yes. Basically, it’s everything!!! I hope you enjoy!
This lovely couple chose Cayman for their destination wedding after many years of visiting Grand Cayman as a family. The Bride’s family are regular visitors to Cayman and introduced the groom to this amazing island just a few years ago. He fell in love with it just as quickly as she did, so when it came time to get married, they just knew.
The couple chose the Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman for their wedding location. Seven Mile Beach was the backdrop for their ceremony, following on to the Grand Terrace for the dinner and the Grand Ballroom for the dancing. All of their guests wore white which further illustrated their love and support for the happy couple.
No detail was left to chance and special touches were everywhere. Above, the cake topper from the Bride’s parent’s wedding was on display next to the guest book-scrapbook. The place settings were complete with a personalized, letterpress menu for each guest.
During dinner, the guests were entertained by fabulous band, Bona Fide then worked their way into the South Beach themed ballroom to dance the night away!

Today’s wedding is choc-o-block with gorgeous detail and beautiful colors! Espresso Brown, Lime Green and a splash of burnt orange really worked for the decor–and it doesn’t hurt that the couple is absolutely stunning!!
The ceremony took place on Seven Mile Beach with the reception at the Wharf Restaurant. Celebrations did another beautiful job with the decor and flowers–I just love those roses!!
The couple looked after every detail from coordinating menus and programs to even the cute birdcage card holder for their well wishes. The tables were dressed with coordinating linens and napkins and no detail was left without thought.
Thank you, Ashley and Andrew for sharing your day with us!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Trish and Grant

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend! We are kicking off the week with Trish and Grant’s wedding full of fun color and fun people! Not only did these two get hitched in Grand Cayman but they also got engaged in Grand Cayman! As if it wasn’t easy enough to choose Cayman as a wedding destination, they now had a meaningful link to the island which made it all the more special to Trish and Grant.
As a photographer herself, the hardest decision for Trish was choosing a photographer for her wedding. When she came across Rebecca Davidson’s work, she knew Rebecca would be the right person to document their day. Based on what I’ve seen, I think so too!!
During the ceremony the couple had a sand ceremony. In non-beach speak, this is similar to a unity candle ceremony without the pesky candles blowing out! As you can see the couple chose blue and green sand and will have this memento to keep and remind them of the commitment they made to each other.
A first for me, this couple also had a rock ceremony. Color coordinated rocks with inspirational words such as “trust” and “love” were used to symbolize all of the many intricate parts of a marriage.
The ceremony took place on the beach next to the Wharf and the group enjoyed a beautiful lunch and dancing to the musical stylings of Musical Crew. Most stayed at The Marriott Beach Resort with a few staying at Turtle Nest Inn and everyone enjoyed a day swimming with the stingrays and playing with the dolphins! They all had a truly amazing visit in Cayman!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Kristen and Joseph

On most days, if you look into the harbour front in Grand Cayman, you will see a number of cruise ships hanging out waiting for their passengers to come back aboard. Downtown George Town is a-buzz with day time tourists shopping, exploring and for some, getting married.
This cute couple did just that. After disembarking their cruise ship, they headed up to the Wharf for a lovely daytime ceremony and lunch reception.
I love the variety of color in this wedding. Celebrations worked with the couple on coordination and design and used the blue to reflect the gorgeous water used as the backdrop with the oranges, yellows and greens really adding a tropical effect to the design.
A few words from the bride and groom…
Crystal Blue :: Why did you choose Grand Cayman for your wedding destination?
Kristen :: As a child, my family used to vacation in the Cayman Islands. At dinner one evening and Kristen stated that she wanted to get married there one day. Following their engagement, Joe and Kristen decided on a destination wedding and could not think of a better place to celebrate their day.
Crystal Blue :: How did you choose to travel by cruise ship?
Kristen :: That was THE hardest decision in the entire planning process. We wanted our guests to have a vacation with a wedding and decided a cruise ship was the best way, for our group, to do this.
Crystal Blue :: Can you describe your day in three words?
Kristen :: Perfect, Beautiful and Simply-Cayman! We just had a great day and our guests had so much fun dancing all afternoon!!!
