Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Trish and Michael

We’re back this week after a fantastic week at Engage!10. Let me tell you, we’re rejuvinated, remotivated and excited for some changes we are going to be making to make your experience at Crystal Blue more meaningful and exciting!!!
Today, we are sharing Trish and Michael’s wedding with you. Melissa Wolfe did a great job at capturing all of the details of this fab wedding and Trish and Michael were kind enough to share with us their thoughts and the story behind the couple!!
I always wonder why people choose Cayman as their destination….here’s what the couple said:
I wanted a Caribbean island with white sand and clear blue water. I knew (only from one visit via a cruise ship, a lot of pictures, and word of mouth) that Seven Mile beach offered that. Compared to many islands, travel was easier for our 24 guests that came from 7 different states. We also wanted an English speaking island/country where the marriage ceremony would actually be legal. I don’t think we could have been happier with the choice of any other island.
(I think it was a perfect choice, too!!)
The couple exchanged vows on Seven Mile Beach, at the Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa. After the sunset, they enjoyed an evening of dinner and dancing beachside!
The bride hand stamped all of her stationery with the palm tree logo she found. This added a beachy look to the day while keeping the elements classy and coordinated. They chose pink to compliment the aqua color (my fav!) which made a beautiful color combination.
The cake was made by the fantastic pastry chef at the Westin and decorated with local bougainvillea.
All in all, it was a great night! The group danced the night away under the stars and the bride even got to play DJ for a while! Congratulations to you both and thank you for allowing us to share your wedding!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Noel and David

Happy Thursday my darlings. Hope the week is going well. Some fun from a fantastic couple to keep this week happening for you! I’m on a Grand Old House kick this week, so here’s one more to round things out.
Noel and David were married just a couple of weeks ago and even the staff at Grand Old House were talking about how much fun their wedding was! The weather was a little tempermental that day, but that didn’t stop the ear to ear smiles and the great fun had by everyone!
Before things started at Grand Old House, Rebecca Davidson took the couple to a few favorite spots to get them warmed up.
I chatted to Noel to find out more about their wedding…here’s what she said!
Crystal Blue :: Why did you choose Grand Cayman for your destination wedding?
Noel :: We choose Grand Cayman for three reasons. First Grand Cayman is a desirable tropical destination because of the unique activities available such as Sting Ray city and diving. Also, it is a higher-end island, meaning the restaurants, hotels, and services would be first class. Third, it was central to both west coast and east coast guests.
Crystal Blue :: Where did you and your guests stay?
Noel :: The Westin Casuarina Resort and Spa
Crystal Blue :: Apart from the wedding which was of course the main event, did you plan any other fun activities for your guests?
Noel :: The first We started things off with “Welcome Bags” for our guests. Each contained personalized, custom-made beach towels, personalized water bottles, and custom-made drink tickets for our cocktail party held the first night at the Westin. The second day’s events involved a chartered fishing boat for all of the men to go deep sea fishing while the girl’s had a bachelorette celebration under cabanas set up at the Westin. Spa services were provided on the beach under the cabanas. The day after the wedding a group excursion had been arranged with Captain Marvin’s Watersports to go to Sting Ray City, and to snorkel for conch and starfish. This was a highlight for the guests because we had the boat reserved entirely for our friends and family. Some members of our family and friends had never even met, so after this experience they went home with new friendships and great memories.
Crystal Blue :: What was the inspiration for the design of your wedding?
Noel :: Our colors were inspired by the sea glass colors of blue and green. I just loved the flowers used throughout. The bridal bouquet was a lush bundle of white cymbidium orchids and sparkling jewels wrapped in ivory silk. The tables’ floral centerpieces were modern displays of orchids, hydrangeas, and calla lilies which kept the look very tropical, but still very chic.
I just had to include a copy of their vows. They are a true reflection of the personalities of Noel and David. Completely in love and really know how to have fun!!

We’re back with some more fun and simple elegance from Marizen and Jamie’s Cayman Islands Wedding! Have a look at these photos. I’m impressed with the height of the bouquet during the toss! You can barely see it!
Crystal Blue: Looks like so much fun! Anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Marizen: Nothing other than this…Our wedding was absolutely memorable and more than we hoped for! We would do it all over again and not change a thing! We are looking forward to our future together and hoping that includes another trip to Grand Cayman!
Crystal Blue: Well, we hope to see you again too!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your day with us!

Cayman Islands Real Wedding :: Marizen and Jamie

The wedding of Marizen and Jamie pretty much defines the term “simple elegance”. I saw the photos for this wedding and wanted to share it with you, not for the details, but for the fun and happiness you can see exuding from the couple and the guests in the photos.
Rebecca Davidson is the genius behind these shots and in true Rebecca style she really captures the moment.
I just love how the red pops against the gorgeous Cayman Sea…could the day be any more beautiful??
So, as I already mentioned, I define this as simple elegance. I asked Marizen how she described the day and she said “unifying, emotional and fun.”
Crystal Blue: Those are three great words to describe your wedding day! You definitely look like you were having fun! What was the most memorable moment of the day?
Marizen: For both of us it was when I was walking down the aisle. I was walking towards my HUSBAND! I was so excited!
Crystal Blue: That is always my favorite part of any wedding. No matter what, I always get a little teary during the procession. You looked absolutely beautiful, tell us about how you found your dress.
Marizen: I thought the process would be lengthy and difficult since I’ve always been very picky with what I wear. The day I found the dress my Maid of Honor took me to a wedding shop that I really didn’t want to go to. She had me try on a dress that was absolutely enormous! The woman at the shop saw this and came back with something she thought might fit me better…I tried it on and fell in love! I bought it on the spot!!
Crystal Blue: WOW! That was easy!! Were all of your planning decisions equally easy?
Marizen: Yes, everything came together really well for us! We always wanted a small intimate wedding on the beach and knew Grand Cayman was perfect for us. Red is my favorite color and daisies are my favorite flower, so it was easy to incorporate both of those aspects into the wedding. We had our wedding and brunch reception at the Westin on Seven Mile Beach and Celebrations provided all of the flowers. It could not have been easier!
Well, that’s what we love to hear!!!! More in a little while with a few more details and more fun photos from Rebecca Davidson!
